As November slips into its frosty final stretch, it’s once again the perfect excuse to stay indoors with new movies and TV shows to watch this weekend on Netflix, Prime Video and other streaming services.

Cozy up with the return of “A Man on the Inside,” which brings Ted Danson back into the PI game, or check out animated adventures in “The Mighty Nein,” which picks up years after “The Legend of Vox Machina.”

Over in movie land, you’ll find the high-octane chaos of “The Family Plan 2,” the fizzy Parisian romance of “Champagne Problems” and the sweeping Americana of “Train Dreams” — all ideal companions for a chilly weekend in. Here’s our guide on what to watch this weekend.

This weekend, I’m starting my binge session with “A Man on the Inside” season 2, then “Champagne Problems.” I love a holiday rom-com, sorry not sorry.

Mike Schur’s crime caper is back, and this time Ted Danson’s Charles Nieuwendyk is swapping retirement-home detective work for campus intrigue. When the university president (Max Greenfield) lands in the crosshairs of a blackmail plot, Charles steps back into his old professor role to sniff out the culprit.

The roster of suspects grows quickly — including a blustery billionaire alum (Gary Cole) — and Charles is distracted by Mona (Mary Steenburgen), the free-spirited music instructor who awakens emotions he thought were packed away for good. He can solve a mystery, sure … but is he open to love?

Set years after “The Legend of Vox Machina,” “The Mighty Nein” follows a ragtag band of outlaws who’d much rather stay under the radar — until destiny has other ideas. When a reality-bending relic falls into the wrong hands, these misfits are thrust into a responsibility they’ve spent their lives avoiding.

Darker in tone and deeper in character than its predecessor, the animated series features voices like Mark Strong, Ming-Na Wen and Alan Cumming. Reluctant heroes or not, this crew just might be the realm’s last hope against total chaos.

Keeley Hawes, the queen of British thrillers (see: “Bodyguard,” “Line of Duty”), leads this six-part series that has already aired in the U.K. A retired assassin’s tranquil Greek getaway is upended when her son (Freddie Highmore) shows up demanding answers — and instead gets a firsthand look at the secrets she’s been running from.

What unfolds is a darkly witty, high-octane romp across Europe, where gunfights collide with mother-son bickering. Add tangled loyalties, eccentric billionaires and yes, one very important thumb drive, and you’ve got a thriller that’s impossible to look away from.

Chris Hemsworth trades Thor’s hammer for heart in his most intimate documentary yet. After his father Craig is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, the duo takes to Australia’s open roads on motorcycles, revisiting the people and places that shaped their lives.

Their journey uncovers the science behind social connection and reminiscence therapy, showing just how healing shared memories and human bonds can be. Full of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments, the documentary blends science and sentiment into a ride you won’t soon forget.

Special premieres Sunday, Nov. 23 at 9 p.m. ET on NatGeo (via Sling) and next day via Disney Plus

    Watch On

Apple’s hit action comedy gets a sequel that sends the Morgan family abroad for what should’ve been a charming Christmas in Europe — right up until Dad’s old assassin life crashes the vacation like an uninvited relative. Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan fall back into their bickering-but-loving banter, joined this time by Kit Harrington, who brings a mysterious edge to the snowy London backdrop.

What starts as a family reunion and a quick “work errand” spirals into rooftop scrambling, surprise enemies and one very rowdy detour to Paris. It’s a perfect if you want a holiday watch with zero mistletoe and plenty of mischief.

    Watch On

“Champagne Problems” uncorks the holiday rom-com season with a fizzy Parisian twist. Minka Kelly stars as Sydney Price, a workaholic executive sent to France to snap up a storied champagne brand before Christmas. She swears she’ll take one night off, and of course, that’s when she stumbles into a too-good-to-be-true evening with Henri, a ridiculously charming Parisian …

Who turns out to be the son of the brand’s founder. Suddenly, Sydney’s biggest deal gets very messy, and she finds herself juggling business and romance. Some bubbles just can’t be bottled.

    ‘Train Dreams’ (Netflix)

    Watch On

“Train Dreams” isn’t your typical Netflix original film; it’s quieter and more soulful. Joel Edgerton anchors this early-20th-century tale as Robert Grainier, a logger carving railroads through the wilderness while trying to hold together a life that keeps slipping out of reach.

Felicity Jones gives the story its quiet heartbeat, while Clint Bentley turns the Pacific Northwest into a place that feels both haunted and holy. It’s slow, sure, but also striking and beautifully made. If you want something that lingers longer than the weekend, this is the one.
