Every day between now and January, my kitchen essentially transforms into the Keebler Hollow Tree the way I am churning out cookies. Cookie swaps and cookie plates, host gifts and holiday movie marathons—there are endless occasions to bake up a batch of cookies. And while the ingredients matter (hello, Kerrygold), so do the tools you use to bake. But as someone with a tiny apartment kitchen, I am particularly picky about what tools I buy—anything coming in has to be well worth the price and storage space.
Ikea recently unveiled a product that is a need—not a want—for bakers in kitchens small and big alike. And what’s more, it’s only $15.
My New Favorite Ikea Find Is a Must-Have for Bakers
The Svartaborre is a 4-tier baking tray rack ideal for the holidays, AKA peak cookie baking season. It features four racks for cooling cookies, cakes, and any other baked goods. Personally, I think it will be essential when drying icing on decorated cookies and gingerbread house pieces. No more stacking cookies on the ironing board required.

Plus, in a move of pure Ikea genius, the shelves fold down, meaning the entire rack can be stored flat, either in a cabinet or even under the oven. For those with limited countertop space (ahem, me), it’s an absolute life-saver.
The Svartaborre is $15 and part of Ikea’s holiday collection, which is full of gems, including gorgeous tablewares and name-brand, look-alike cookware. If you didn’t have Ikea on your list of stores to hit for all your holiday shopping needs, consider this a formal invitation to change that.
