HTG Wrapped 2025: 24 days of tech

24 days of our favorite hardware, gadgets, and tech

OnePlus has always been at the forefront of zippy Android flagship phones—and the OnePlus 15 is no different. It’s one of the first Android smartphones on the market with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, which will likely appear in many other Android flagships, including Samsung devices, starting in 2026. If you want to get a head start on this powerful new chip, the OnePlus 15 is your phone.

The phone pairs the 8 Elite Gen 5 with 12 GB LPDDR5X Ultra or 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra+ RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage for lightning-fast performance.

The OnePlus 15’s battery life hooked me, but it’s not what kept me

I had no idea a phone could have a battery this big in a package this small.

OnePlus promises the phone can achieve a stable 120 FPS in games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. That’s buttery-smooth performance, perfectly complemented by the stunning 6.78‑inch 165 Hz LTPO AMOLED display.

Another standout feature of the OnePlus 15 that isn’t commonly seen on most other flagship phones is its up-to-IP69K water and dust resistance. This means the phone can withstand high-pressure water jets at temperatures up to 176 °F (80 °C).

I still wouldn’t take it into the shower, but it’s reassuring to know it has a decent chance of surviving an accidental cycle in the washing machine. And I can’t believe I’m saying this—but please, don’t throw your phone in the washing machine on purpose to test the claims.

OnePlus hasn’t renewed its Hasselblad partnership for the cameras this year, but the cameras are still very solid. Each of the three cameras uses a 50 MP sensor, including the large main camera, 3.5× optical zoom periscope telephoto, and 116° ultrawide.

We also can’t talk about the OnePlus 15 without mentioning its ridiculous 7,300 mAh silicon-carbon battery, which can easily get you through a full day without a charger. If you do need to charge, the OnePlus 15 supports up to 120W (80W in the US) fast wired charging and 50W wireless with the AIRVOOC charger. Its battery game is on point, as always.

Now that the OnePlus 15 is finally available in the U.S., it’s the perfect time to place your order. OnePlus is offering up to a $100 trade-in bonus for phones, tablets, smartwatches, and other devices.

Even better, you can now choose a free gift alongside your phone, including the steel version of the OnePlus Watch 3 ($300 value), OnePlus Buds Pro 3 ($180 value), or the OnePlus AIRVOOC 50W Magnetic Charger ($80 value). In my opinion, the Watch 3 is the best pick—it’s the most interesting and high-value device on the list, and a great smartwatch to boot.

The OnePlus 15 features the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC that enables gaming features never before seen on a smartphone. The 165Hz display is perfect for mobile gaming, and when not gaming, it runs at 120Hz, making it ideal for everyday usage. The triple camera array is pretty great, and the 7,300mAh battery lasts multiple days on a single charge.
