The $1.50 Dollar Tree Find So Good I Bought 8 (They’re a West Elm Copycat)

I often scroll through designer home sites like Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Anthropologie, and West Elm, mentally designing my house and decorating the tables I can’t afford. Occasionally, I’ll buy a statement piece or something I know will be in my life forever, but mostly, I’m there for inspiration.

That’s how I came across West Elm’s new Tannenbaum dinnerware. I love the “quiet luxury” vibe and the effortless, Scandi-minimalist evergreen look. However, dishes for a dinner party with eight guests would cost more than my car payment. I want approachable elegance, not a credit card bill that haunts me for months. So, I’m always elated when I find similar styles in the aisles of the Dollar Tree.

This year, I found the Royal Norfolk Winter Green dishes—a similar but not exact look to the West Elm dinnerware I covet. With the Dollar Tree on my side, I can set a West Elm-inspired holiday table for the price of just one West Elm plate.

Why I’m Loving Dollar Tree’s Royal Norfolk Winter Green Dishes

When I compare them side by side with West Elm’s Tannenbaum collection, the similarities are striking. Both feature the same minimalist evergreen motif on clean white backgrounds. West Elm’s version has a more crafted, hand-painted quality with textured glaze, while Dollar Tree’s is more graphic and smooth. But from across the dinner table—or even in photos—they read like they’re in the same design family.

The Dollar Tree plates are lighter weight and have a glossy finish instead of matte. And I won’t lie—I love a matte-finished dish. But it’s a small price to pay (literally) for something so similar.

To give some context, if you were to buy a full set of eight of each Dollar Tree piece, the total would be $48. When I compare that to West Elm, where just four mugs cost $64, the value becomes almost comical.

As with the Tannenbaum dishes, the Winter Green collection includes everything you need for a complete place setting: 10.5-inch dinner plates, 7.5-inch side plates, 5.6-inch bowls, and 11-ounce mugs. I, however, prefer a mix of pieces, which looks more elevated. And with a mix of pieces, the styling possibilities are more versatile, too.

Like many other Dollar Tree products, the Winter Green collection gives a pretty awesome West Elm (or similar) aesthetic, at a price point that works for more people. Scrolling through high-end store sites is fun, but it’s nice not to always have to window shop! Don’t you agree?
