I’m not one to blink an eye when a cookware brand launches a new colorway. Seen one limited-edition color, seen ‘em all, right? But even I have to admit that Le Creuset’s latest color is a stunner—and one I’m planning on investing in.
For a limited time, a select assortment of Le Creuset cookware and kitchen items will be available in Forêt, a lush, earthy green with gold accents. I got an early peek at the collection and was thrilled to find that a few of Serious Eats’ reviewed and recommended kitchen items are getting the forêt treatment. These are the five pieces I’d buy.
Le Creuset is launching a new green-and-gold-accented color, Forêt. This limited edition is available on a few of its products, including longtime Serious Eats favorites.
The Best Dutch Oven on the Market: Le Creuset Signature Enameled Cast Iron 5.5-Quart Dutch Oven
Le Creuest
This is Le Creuset’s best-known and longest-loved piece of cookware, and it has topped our Dutch ovens review for years. Its enamel coating is incredibly tough—you’d have to really try to chip it—and it heats quickly and evenly. This Dutch oven produces the deepest, best sears whenever we retest it. Did I mention almost every Serious Eats editor has one?
Adorable Miniature Pots: Le Creuset Mini Round Cocotte
Le Creuset
Take everything our staff loves about the Dutch oven and make it fun-sized: You’ll end up with Le Creuset’s mini cocottes. Says our associate editorial director, Riddley Gemperlein-Schirm, “I own a few of these mini cocottes and love serving individual casseroles in them or bringing them to the table filled with condiments or toppings. Like all Le Creuset ceramics I own, I’ve put them through it, and they look good as new.”
Our Longtime Winning Braiser: Le Creuset Signature Enameled 3.5-Quart Braiser
Le Creuset
We’ve called this wide, shallow pan the “Cadillac of braisers.” It’s made with the same seriously durable enamel as the Dutch oven, and it’s easy to maneuver in and out of the oven, thanks to wide handles you can comfortably grip, even while wearing oven mitts. It’s my pan of choice for cooking chicken thighs on the stovetop and finishing them in the oven, baking Dutch baby pancakes, and finishing pasta in sauce.
A Perfectly Sized Bread Oven: Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Bread Oven
Le Creuest
This enameled cast iron bread oven is the ideal size for baking picture-perfect sourdough boules at home. When we tested it, we were duly impressed by how easy it was to lift the cover one-handed. If you’re looking for a sign to begin baking bread, let the combination of this editor-loved piece and its limited-edition color be it!
A Beautiful Loaf Pan: Le Creuset San Francisco Loaf Pan
Le Creuset
This piece of ceramic bakeware is similar to Le Creuset’s Heritage Loaf Pan, a winner in our loaf pans review. The only difference between the two is a slight variance in handle shape. Both loaf pans are made of heavy, evenly heating ceramic, which yielded some of the most beautiful banana bread in our tests. Both are oven-safe up to 500˚F.
