Peacock has a diverse selection of movies and TV shows, but it also contains another form of media that you might not be aware of: games, playable from the mobile app. So, instead of clicking on the next episode of Law & Order: SVU or Love Island USA, you can play Peacock’s games for a quick break.
Games are on Peacock, and they are easy to find
Similar to Netflix, Peacock subscribers can play games on the streaming platform’s app. To find them, scroll down the homepage on Peacock’s mobile app and find the “New Mini-Games Today” section. It should fall below the “Continue Watching” and “Featured Brands” sections. Unfortunately, this feature doesn’t have its own tag at the top of the screen like movies, TV shows, and sports do.
Once you find the games, you will notice that Peacock doesn’t have nearly the same number of games as Netflix. However, its selection is still unique and intriguing. From a Wheel of Fortune-inspired game to brain teasers, Peacock offers games specific to its brand that you can’t find anywhere else.
Peacock-specific games you can play anywhere
As mentioned, Peacock’s games include Wheel of Fortune, which entails exactly what you think it does. Just like the popular NBC TV series, Peacock’s version of Wheel of Fortune asks viewers to solve word puzzles that often relate to TV shows that can be found in its library, like The Office or Parks and Recreation.
Meanwhile, other games consist of quizzes (Quiz Climb), crossword puzzles (Downwards), guessing games (What The?), and word puzzles (Daily Swap). Like Wheel of Fortune, these games mostly revolve around Peacock’s selection of TV shows or movies, so you have to brush up on your knowledge of series like Law & Order. For example, an iteration of What The? could ask you for a courtroom phrase and show an image of a man holding a large rock that reads, “Proof,” as seen below.
Additionally, Peacock’s games allow you to predict sports matches (like NBA games) or what happens on reality shows like The Voice. You can earn points for every correct prediction and can track your success on the leaderboard. Although these games aren’t available every day (depending on the TV schedule), they offer a way to keep track of your favorite teams and series. They also incentivize you to watch sports matches or reality shows, given that you’ll want bragging rights if your predictions come true.
The one streaming feature I miss every time I open Netflix
It helped me choose what to watch, but Netflix ditched it.
In my opinion, though, the best part of Peacock’s games is that they change daily. As such, I can return to Peacock every day and find something new. The types of games (Quiz Climb, Downwards, and so on) will remain the same, but I’m challenged with new trivia questions and never-before-seen crosswords and puzzles.
Other than its diverse and ever-changing selection, another reason I like Peacock’s gaming feature is that it’s a quick distraction that I can play from anywhere as long as I have my phone. I don’t have to commit several hours (or even several minutes) to these types of games, as they might only take a moment to complete. Almost all of them are fast plays, ranging from Peacock’s quizzes to its predictions.
Peacock’s games aren’t perfect
Peacock’s games are far from perfect, even though they can be quite entertaining, albeit for a short period of time. In fact, Peacock could learn a thing or two from Netflix. For starters, the service could expand its game selection, especially in regard to how many relate to specific TV series and films. Yes, it has its Wheel of Fortune game and The Voice predictions, but what about Peacock’s workplace comedies like The Office or Parks and Recreation?
If Peacock offered more games that were more obviously inspired by popular shows like The Office, more people would want to play them. Meanwhile, Netflix’s gaming section is much more well-known because it offers games that appeal to a wide audience. For example, Netflix has Squid Game: Unleashed, which allows you to take part in competitions from the TV show. It even offers a Stranger Things-inspired game. It also licenses popular games like Red Dead Redemption and Football Manager.

Peacock could also make its games available on other devices outside its mobile app. Netflix subscribers can play games on TVs, for example. While some games are limited to mobile, the large catalog means that there is always something else that is fun to play.
You should take full advantage of all that Peacock has to offer by checking out the Mini-Games section on its mobile app. Yes, it’s not perfect, as it could have easier accessibility and expand its selection. However, Peacock’s games remain entertaining, especially for those who only have a few minutes in the day to play them.
