Dollar General Has a Rare ‘Hall of Fame Soda’ That We Haven’t Seen in a Long Time

Dollar General is the place I always shop to snag delicious snacks and beverages that aren’t always found at larger grocery chains. The dollar store often sells an “elite” candy that fans stockpile, plus the RC Cherry Cola that reminds me of my childhood.

But there’s another nostalgic soda sold at Dollar General that shoppers on Reddit are calling the “nectar of the gods.” And I need to try it ASAP. 

Tahitian Treat Fruit Punch Soda Spotted at Dollar General

Tahitian Treat Fruit Punch Soda is a beloved drink that is relatively hard to find at grocery stores these days. First introduced in the 1960s, it’s a refreshing punch-flavored, caffeine-free soda that is known for its sweet, fruity taste. Because it’s not available everywhere, people have been buying it online, but it’s been spotted multiple times at Dollar General.

The retro soda, now owned by Keurig Dr Pepper, can easily take you on a walk down memory lane with each sip, according to Redditors. And some have gone to great lengths to pour themselves a glass of Tahitian Treat Fruit Punch. In the r/Soda subreddit thread, one person shared that they drove “over an hour” to get a few cases of the nostalgic soda. “I hardly drink sodas, but by far my favorite!” they said.

And they aren’t the only ones who love this flavor. Another Redditor wrote, “Hall of fame soda right here.”

“Nectar of the gods,” someone else commented. “I used to beg, beg, beg my mom for this when I was a little kid.”

The Tahitian Treat Fruit Punch Soda is available at Dollar General in a 12-pack of cans for $9 or a two-liter bottle for just $3. It’s also available online at Walmart for a 24-pack of cans for $22, or a 10-pack of 20-ounce bottles for $29. 

If this soda is as tasty as its fans say it is, it’s a great drink to pick up if you’re craving a sweet, fruity beverage. While I’ve never tried the soda before, I’m now extremely tempted to head to my local Dollar General and snag a case for myself.
