Costco Shoppers Say Its New Deli Item Is ‘an Auto Buy’ Every Time They’re There

Costco is no stranger to heat-and-eat meals, from fan-favorite take-and-bake entrées to restaurant-worthy prepared sides. Our editors swear by the pre-made enchiladas, and fans across the border in Canada consistently rave about the Chicken Taco Kit. Now, with the holidays in full swing, the warehouse grocer continues to deliver comforting dishes, such as Loaded Mashed Potatoes, to simplify holiday hosting. However, the latest offering from Costco’s deli to stop shoppers in their tracks is a new flavor of a long-time favorite dish—and, yes, the original variations are still on shelves. 

Costco’s New Sriracha Salmon Poke

Costco consistently delivers on high-quality seafood, including Kirkland’s Salmon Milano and favorite lobster and crab legs that appear like clockwork every holiday season. In addition to the fish itself, Costco also offers a variety of prepared seafood dishes, including its spin on Hawaiian poke, in the deli section. 

Previously, the grocery store has stocked Ahi Wasabi Poke and Ahi Spicy Poke, prepared with different marinades including green onions, sesame seeds, soy sauce, and more. And while sushi lovers have raved about the Ahi Tuna variations, salmon fans were excited to spot a brand-new Sriracha Salmon Poke on Costco shelves recently.

One user spotted the newer meal at a Costco warehouse in Charlotte, North Carolina, and reported that the store had three variations of the pre-made poke: “Sriracha salmon, wasabi tuna, and spicy tuna!” After searching high and low for the new spicy salmon, the Redditor declared that they were “so excited for dinner tonight.”

While $18 per pound may seem like a steep price for a prepared Costco meal, many shoppers appreciate the poke’s price, flavor, and quality. Reddit user bulbasaurite argues that the dish is “Much better than any poke place where they skimp you out of poke and add unnecessary toppings…I know people here [have] mentioned many times that it’s not worth the price, but I love it.”

“I bought the sriracha salmon a couple of weeks back. Just had it with rice and got four meals out of it, so it was roughly $5 per meal,” commented another Redditor, who added that they have “no complaints.”

On another Reddit thread about the Costco poke, one user dubbed the dish “an auto buy for me every time I’m there,” writing that the serving is enough for “three large lunches for me, and is great quality.”
