The Costco bakery aisle is certainly one of my weaknesses. The easiest way for me to go over my grocery budget? I come across new and returning Costco treats that I can’t resist trying. From seasonal finds like the luscious pumpkin cheesecake and apple fritter donut bites to brand-new options like the Kirkland Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar Cake, you can’t judge me for splurging a bit on a little sweet treat.

Beyond the fabulous cakes and pies, the grocery warehouse is known to bring in new bakery items on occasion, even if they aren’t exactly seasonal finds, as well as to bring back fan favorites that flew off the shelves. And the latest treat returning to Costco’s bakery aisle is already causing a stir.

    Costco Mini Beignets Are Back

The return of a fan-loved bakery item is always bound to get Costco shoppers talking, and this treat is no exception. The beloved Mini Beignets Filled With Chocolate Hazelnut are back, and fans are in a tizzy with excitement.

If you’re not familiar, beignets are a traditional New Orleans-style pastry. They are typically made by deep-frying fluffy pastry dough, and served warm with a generous dusting of powdered sugar. The mini beignets sold at Costco are filled with a rich chocolate hazelnut spread, which is similar to Nutella.

The bakery find was first spotted at some Costco locations in the U.S. last fall, and some shoppers reported seeing the treat sold at Costco warehouses in Canada, Mexico, and Japan even earlier. Thanks to Instagram content creator @costconew, the beignets are back: “They are back and only $9.99, Costco did it again.” Fans of the treat were quick to share their excitement in the comments, with one saying, “My favorite,” and another commenting, “Neeeed!!”

In a Reddit post, the beignets have become a hot topic of discussion. Those who have tried the bakery find have had nothing but positive things to say, with one shopper sharing, “They are absolutely amazing. Light and pillowy with basically Nutella inside.”

“They had these this morning, and I resisted. I might need to rethink that choice,” commented one prospective buyer.

“I would eat a box a day of these,” another wrote.

Each container contains 22 mini beignets and costs about $9.99, though prices may vary. So make sure to head to your nearest Costco to give these tasty treats a try when you’re not enjoying one of our beignet recipes.
