arXiv:2511.10842v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Knowledge graphs have emerged as fundamental structures for representing complex relational data across scientific and enterprise domains. However, existing embedding methods face critical limitations when modeling diverse relationship types at scale: Euclidean models struggle with hierarchies, vector space models cannot capture asymmetry, and hyperbolic models fail on symmetric relations. We propose HyperComplEx, a hybrid embedding framework that adaptively combines hyperbolic, complex, and Euclidean spaces via learned attention mechanisms. A relation-specific space weighting strategy dynamically selects optimal geometries for each relation type, while a multi-space consistency loss ensures coherent predictions across spaces. We evaluate HyperComplEx on…
The concept of enshittification, as coined by the author and activist Cory Doctorow, just feels right. Whether you’re searching on Google, shopping on Amazon, or scrolling on Facebook, large platforms often feel like they’re not trying to bring us value so much as extract every bit of value they can out of us. It wasn’t always like this, was it? Can we get it back?On this episode of The Vergecast, Doctorow has an answer: no, it wasn’t always like this, and yes, we can get it back. Doctorow’s new book, Enshittification: Why Everything Suddenly Got Worse and What to Do…

I have a lot of memories with this one particularly terrible ex-boyfriend that I don’t like to think about, but eating this sofrito pasta that his mom used to make is not one of them. She emigrated from Colombia and adapted American dishes to her taste, but her meat sauce was the best. She would fry sofrito for the base and simply add cooked ground beef, sazón, and jarred tomato sauce. The first time I had it, I remember thinking, “I need more. Right. Now.”My version is a bit more bougie and calls for caramelized tomato paste and white wine,…

If you read any of WIRED’s recent AI edition, you know that lots of people are spending lots of time talking about how the technology is revolutionizing pretty much everything—from coding to writing to accounting. You’ve also probably heard by now, from us or somebody else, that we might very well be in an economic bubble of AI origin, one wherein the billions and billions of dollars being funneled into the industry is creating an untenable economic scenario that could turn catastrophic.Of course, you may also have read that I’m really sick of being asked about AI. I’m still not…
Like most people, I rely on third-party apps to fill in the gaps and limitations of my Android phone. Over the years, I’ve collected a handful of apps that make my life easier, so installing them is the first thing I do as soon as I’m done setting up my phone. Among them, Activity Launcher is one of those essentials I honestly cannot imagine using my phone without. It takes something that is normally tedious, like digging through settings or navigating deep app menus, and turns it into a quick single tap. It saves me a lot of time and…

Google submitted a compliance plan to the European Commission that proposes changes to its ad-tech operations — but rejects calls to break up its business How it works: Google is offering product-level changes — for example, giving publishers the ability to set different minimum prices for different bidders in Google Ad Manager. It’s also proposing greater interoperability between Google’s tools and those of rivals, in order to give publishers and advertisers more flexibility. The company says these tweaks would resolve the European Commission’s concerns without a “disruptive break-up.” Why we care. Google’s proposed “non-disruptive” fixes could preserve platform stability and…
Many marketers too often mistake their job as stewards and amplifiers of their brand. While that isn’t necessarily wrong, it’s not their most important job. Understanding and advocating for their audience is. This time, we sat down with Patrick Timmons—Senior Manager of Social and Brand Communications, founder of The Brand Kitchen, author, and expert on empathy marketing—to learn more about his empathy-driven philosophy.…
