It’s been 10 months since Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and it remains one of the best phones in 2025, holding its own against the likes of its competition: the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Pixel 10 Pro XL. In fact, the Galaxy S25 Ultra received a CNET Editors’ Choice Award because it truly is one of the best phones you can buy. But that doesn’t mean you should right now.The Galaxy S25 Ultra wasn’t the upgrade I wanted for the $1,300 phone. Sure, it has the best screen on a smartphone, and it’ll likely be discounted for the…

After years of staring down the world’s biggest tech companies and setting the bar for tough regulation worldwide, Europe has blinked. Under intense pressure from industry and the US government, Brussels is stripping protections from its flagship General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and relaxing or delaying landmark AI rules in an effort to cut red tape and revive sluggish economic growth. The proposed overhaul won’t land quietly in Brussels, and if the development of the GDPR and AI Act are anything to go by, a political and lobbying firestorm is on its way. Globbing is like regular expressions for your filenames. Unfortunately, it’s often misunderstood, despite being an essential command-line skill that everyone knows at least something about. Turn that superficial knowledge into a better understanding. What is globbing? “Globbing” is an informal version of the term “filename expansion.” Using special patterns, you can identify filenames based on patterns rather than exact literal matches. The first example of globbing that everyone comes across is in this kind of format: ls *.txt This shows a list of files with names ending in the extension “.txt” in your current directory. In this example, the *…
If you’ve been looking at your shopping cart and wondering “where’s the beef?” you’re not alone. Steak may not be in everyone’s budget these days, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a luxurious boeuf Bourguignon or smoky slices of barbecued beef when you’ve got an affordable cut like beef chuck sitting at the meat counter, just waiting to be bought. The versatility of beef chuck can’t be overstated. Certainly the most popular way, from France to Nigeria, is to make it into a soul-satisfying stew. But it’s also at the heart of regional comfort foods, such as Texas chili…
arXiv:2511.13542v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Adaptive learning often diagnoses precisely yet intervenes weakly, producing help that is mistimed or misaligned. This study presents evidence supporting an instructor-governed feedback loop that converts concept-level assessment evidence into vetted microinterventions. The adaptive learning algorithm includes three safeguards: adequacy as a hard guarantee of gap closure, attention as a budgeted limit for time and redundancy, and diversity as protection against overfitting to a single resource. We formulate intervention assignment as a binary integer program with constraints for coverage, time, difficulty windows derived from ability estimates, prerequisites encoded by a concept matrix, and anti-redundancy with…
I’m a bit of an air purifier fanatic. I have a sensitive nose, allergies, and a toddler, so all of these factors contribute to both being very willing to try out various models and being discerning about the actual benefits. When I was presented with the chance to test the RabbitAir A3 Ultra Quiet smart air purifier, I was curious to see how it could improve the air quality in the rooms we spend the most time in. And I was impressed from unboxing. Here’s what else I discovered after a little over a week of dedicated use. My Favorite…
