UK doctor and YouTuber Dr. Ed Hope said Google’s AI falsely claimed he was suspended by the General Medical Council earlier this year for selling sick notes. Hope called the allegation completely made up and warned that it could seriously damage his career. Google’s AI generated a detailed narrative accusing Hope of professional misconduct, despite no investigations, complaints, or sanctions in his 10-year medical career, he said in a new video. Why we care. Google’s AI-generated answers appear to now be presenting false, career-damaging claims about real people as fact. That raises serious questions about defamation, accountability, and whether AI-generated…

Whether you want it or not, Google’s AI Overviews are here to stay. There have been mixed responses to the AI-organized summaries that now appear at the top of your Google search results after you ask a question, leading Google to address the concerns. Initially, the only way AI Overviews appeared was if you had signed up for Search Labs, which lets you participate in Google’s latest AI experiments. Now, the AI-created summaries have been pushed out to everyone in the US. Check out: Google’s AI Overviews: What It Is and Why It’s Getting Things WrongIf you don’t see AI Overviews in Google yet,…
But when it comes to using these botanicals to “optimize” or “cleanse” the liver of an otherwise healthy person? There’s no strong evidence. “No single ingredient in isolation, no matter how healthy, will cure disease, heal an organ, cleanse a liver, or make you young again,” Pasquariello says. “Liver health comes from a variety of lifestyle and diet choices.”Dose also uses what’s known as a proprietary blend, which means consumers have no idea how much of anything is actually inside. To an RD, that’s a red flag. “Supplements like this often contain ingredients in such high quantities it becomes dangerous…or…
How people use Microsoft Copilot depends on whether they’re at a desk or on their phone. That is the core theme in the company’s analysis of 37.5 million Copilot conversations sampled between January and September. The research examines consumer Copilot usage patterns across device types and time of day. The authors say they used machine-based classifiers to categorize conversations by topic and intent without any human review of the messages. What The Report Says On mobile, Health and Fitness is the most common topic throughout the day The authors summarize the split this way: “On mobile, health is the dominant…

Customer expectations are higher than ever and a single bad experience can cost you a customer. That’s why you need a CXM strategy that connects every touchpoint and streamlines workflows—delivering personalized experiences at scale. Here’s how to build a strategy that works. What is customer experience management? Customer experience management (CXM) is how brands plan, deliver and optimize every customer interaction. The goal…

Despite promising efficiency gains, these proposals have failed to gain traction because they rely on fundamentally limited modeling techniques and exotic, unscalable hardware. In this work, we address these shortcomings by proposing an all-transistor probabilistic computer that implements powerful denoising models at the hardware level. A system-level analysis…
One day in November, a product strategist we’ll call Michelle (not her real name), logged into her LinkedIn account and switched her gender to male. She also changed her name to Michael, she told TechCrunch. She was partaking in an experiment called #WearthePants where women tested the hypothesis that LinkedIn’s new algorithm was biased against women. For months, some heavy LinkedIn users complained about seeing drops in engagement and impressions on the career-oriented social network. This came after the company’s vice president of engineering, Tim Jurka, said in August that the platform had “more recently” implemented LLMs to help surface…
