Shopify powers more than 6 million live ecommerce websites, supported by a robust app ecosystem that can extend nearly every part of the customer journey. Anyone can develop an app to perform virtually any function. But with so many integrations to choose from, ecommerce teams often waste time testing add-ons that promise revenue gains but fail to deliver. Having worked across a wide range of Shopify implementations, I’ve seen which tools consistently improve checkout completion, recover abandoned carts, and increase revenue. Based on that experience, I’ve organized the most effective integrations into three tiers by priority – so you can…
Adobe is updating its AI video-generation app, Firefly, with a new video editor that supports precise prompt-based edits, as well as adding new third-party models for image and video generation, including Black Forest Labs’ FLUX.2 and Topaz Astra. Until now, Firefly only supported prompt-based generation, so you would have to recreate the entire clip if any part of the video was not to your liking. With the new editor, you can use text prompts to edit video elements, colors, and camera angles, and we also get a new timeline view that lets you adjust frames, sounds and other characteristics easily.…
Not everyone is as excited about your smart home as you are. While automating devices and routines has its upsides, this is a nerdy hobby. For most, a functional home is all that really matters. At times, you may face some pushback, but it’s important to take this as a learning experience and make sure you’re designing a smart home that everyone wants to live in. Serious Eats / Amanda Suarez Okay, technically these are more cake than cookie, and yes, they are a lot of work, but they’re worth it. We use a basic cake recipe enhanced with a hefty amount of almond paste to create the cookie’s signature nutty flavor and dense texture. The batter is divided into thirds; one portion left white, the second dyed green, and the last dyed red, spread into a paper thin cake layer then each is baked, cooled, then stacked and layered with a thin smear of raspberry or apricot jam in between, before topping with a chocolate…
Inside many companies, SEO reporting still relies heavily on mainstream metrics like keyword tracking, traffic graphs, etc., while the leadership side asks a different question: “How much revenue did this actually drive?” Years ago, I used to think this was just a communication gap. Over time, I realized the issue wasn’t communication at all; it was measurement. Most SEO dashboards stop at visibility and traffic, so of course, decision-makers don’t see the true value. Traditional metrics tell us only how users arrive. They reveal almost nothing about what happens after the click. However, we need to know if users find…
[Submitted on 15 Dec 2025] View a PDF of the paper titled Tackling Snow-Induced Challenges: Safe Autonomous Lane-Keeping with Robust Reinforcement Learning, by Amin Jalal Aghdasian and 2 other authors View PDF HTML (experimental) Abstract:This paper proposes two new algorithms for the lane keeping system (LKS) in autonomous vehicles (AVs) operating under snowy road conditions. These algorithms use deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to handle uncertainties and slippage. They include Action-Robust Recurrent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (AR-RDPG) and end-to-end Action-Robust convolutional neural network Attention Deterministic Policy Gradient (AR-CADPG), two action-robust approaches for decision-making. In the AR-RDPG method, within the perception layer,…
Today’s Connections: Sports Edition will be easier if you know your defunct football. As we’ve shared in previous hints stories, this is a version of the popular New York Times word game that seeks to test the knowledge of sports fans. Like the original Connections, the game is all about finding the “common threads between words.” And just like Wordle, Connections resets after midnight and each new set of words gets trickier and trickier — so we’ve served up some hints and tips to get you over the hurdle. If you just want to be told today’s puzzle, you can jump to…
As your laptop gets older, it tends to get slower, offer a little less battery life, overheats easily, the keyboard feels spongy, the power connector feels loose, and the trackpad doesn’t feel as good as the first day. That’s normal and a result of regular wear and tear. But not all of it has to happen so fast. Certain habits kill your battery faster, and we’re talking 8 hours after 3 years versus barely 2. The same carelessness can mean a display replacement just as the warranty expires, or a laptop that looks like it came straight from a scrapyard.…
Be the first to rate & review! 1 Photo For this copycat Disneyland grilled cheese, provolone and Cheddar slices encase a Cheddar and cream cheese spread in hearty white bread. A garlic-mayonnaise smear on the outside is the secret to grilled perfection. Published on December 16, 2025
a decade old now. Back then, OpenAI felt like one (well-baked) startup among others. DeepMind was already around, but not yet fully integrated into Google. And, back then, the “triad of deep learning” — LeCun, Hinton, and Bengio — published Deep Learning in Nature*. Today, AI is like a common good. Back then, it was mostly scholars and tech nerds that knew and cared about it. Today, even kids know what AI is and interact with it (for worse or even worse). It’s a fast-paced field, and I’m fortunate to have joined it only slightly afterwards “back then” — eight years ago,…
