In the world of retro desserts, the frog eye salad might be one of the most fascinating. While the origins of the name are unknown, it’s likely a nod to the main ingredient: acini de pepe, tiny rounds of pasta that resemble frog eyes (thankfully, the ingredient list doesn’t include any amphibians). The sweet dish—custard or pudding and whipped cream mixed with the pasta, canned fruit, marshmallows, and coconut—often stars in potluck and party spreads in the Rocky Mountain and Midwest regions, particularly during the holiday season. What Is Frog Eye Salad? Diana Rattray Rumored to have roots in Utah’s…
, we ensemble learning with voting, bagging and Random Forest. Voting itself is only an aggregation mechanism. It does not create diversity, but combines predictions from already different models.Bagging, on the other hand, explicitly creates diversity by training the same base model on multiple bootstrapped versions of the training dataset. Random Forest extends bagging by additionally restricting the set of features considered at each split. From a statistical point of view, the idea is simple and intuitive: diversity is created through randomness, without introducing any fundamentally new modeling concept. But ensemble learning does not stop there. There exists another family…

If you’re like me, the holidays mean a fully booked calendar, occasionally hosting, and often flitting between friends and family as a guest. Given I’m a sommelier, it often falls to me to bring wine—or at least bring good wine. As someone blessed with a large friend group and an even larger family, rather than shuffle up to a party juggling half a dozen bottles of wine, I turn to my secret weapon for the season: boxed wine. It’s a category that has blossomed over the past few years, and finding delicious, reliable, food-friendly options is a lot easier than…

While there hasn’t been a significant breakthrough in computer input devices like keyboards, Lenovo could change that at CES 2026. According to a report by Windows Latest, the company is working on a self-charging keyboard and mouse combo, another translucent combo, and an adaptive smart keyboard. The most unique product in the leaks is something called the “Lenovo Self-Charging Kit Concept.” It reportedly harvests energy from low indoor lighting (as low as 50 lux) and charges itself as you use it indoors. Although this technology is similar to Logitech’s solar-powered keyboards, it also works without direct sunlight. Windows Latest To…
I love to cook—I even graduated from culinary school. But that doesn’t mean I always want to cook, especially weekday lunches. Too-healthy salads feel uninspired, but heavier dishes send me into an afternoon slump. A conundrum. So when I heard that Sakara, the plant-based meal delivery brand targeted to wellness enthusiasts (we’re talking the “hot girl walk” crowd) was partnering with Factor, another healthy prepared meal service beloved by macros counters and self-professed gym rats, with a line of salads, I was enthusiastic. Maybe these veggie-packed, nutrient-dense bowls would have enough protein and flavor pizzazz to satisfy both my energy…
Large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews are changing how people find local businesses. These systems don’t just crawl your website the way search engines do. They interpret language, infer meaning, and piece together your brand’s identity across the entire web. If your local visibility feels unstable, this shift is one of the biggest reasons. Traditional local SEO like Google Business Profile optimization, NAP consistency, and review generation still matter. But now you’re also optimizing for models that need better context and more structured information. If those elements aren’t in place, you fade from LLM-generated answers…
