If you use your Windows PC for work, you probably have a startup routine whether you like it or not. I certainly do. As soon as I power on my laptop, I open the same apps, arrange them across your screens, and hope I haven’t forgotten anything. It’s not exactly difficult, but if there were an option to automate it, I’d absolutely take it. As it turns out, there is. PowerToys’ Workspaces is a feature that does exactly what I’d been wishing for. It can remember which apps I use and how I arrange them, which allows me to restore…

A new OnePlus smartphone called the OnePlus Turbo has surfaced in a fresh set of leaks. Folks over at Android Headlines have gotten their hands on live images of the handset, giving us our first proper look at the smartphone. Visually, the phone looks… familiar. As seen in the pictures, the phone has a glossy back panel with a dual-camera setup at the top left (placed on a raised platform). The sides look like they’re made of textured plastic, while the front panel houses a punch-hole screen with minimal (and symmetrical) bezels on all sides. Android Headlines Familiar design language,…
Winter is a time for warm, nourishing meals. While some people might be open to the idea of eating a salad or a sandwich, the only meals I crave during chilly months are soups, stews, and braises. Not only are they hearty and satisfying, but they can also be easily prepared ahead of time, making them a great option for busy weeknights. While many cold weather recipes rely on meat for flavor and heft, there are plenty of excellent meatless options that are just as delicious and filling. Below, you’ll find 13 hearty and satisfying vegetarian soups—including a loaded baked…
arXiv:2512.21227v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: In this work, we introduce PhononBench, the first large-scale benchmark for dynamical stability in AI-generated crystals. Leveraging the recently developed MatterSim interatomic potential, which achieves DFT-level accuracy in phonon predictions across more than 10,000 materials, PhononBench enables efficient large-scale phonon calculations and dynamical-stability analysis for 108,843 crystal structures generated by six leading crystal generation models. PhononBench reveals a widespread limitation of current generative models in ensuring dynamical stability: the average dynamical-stability rate across all generated structures is only 25.83%, with the top-performing model, MatterGen, reaching just 41.0%. Further case studies show that in property-targeted generation-illustrated…

Intel’s sub-$200 CPUs now deliver performance once reserved for far pricier processorsCore Ultra 5 chips pressure AMD by pairing clocks with multicore resultsAMD’s Ryzen 9 5900XT struggles to justify pricing against newer Intel alternativesI’ve spotted something interesting in the low end of the desktop CPU market – right now, some of the fastest processors you can buy for around $200 come from Intel, not AMD, and the performance gap is uncomfortable enough to raise an intriguing question: Is Intel starting to look like the old AMD, the company that wins by offering more performance for less money? The clearest example here…
