Performance can tell you something too. You might notice suboptimal baked goods when using past-their-peak whole grain flours, for example. Bread dough can feel different as you knead it, or cookies might spread more as they bake. Determining when flour is past its prime takes a bit of baker’s intuition, Jampel says. Overall, if there’s any evidence of the above, toss it in the compost bin.One complicating note about clumps: Gluten-free flours can be prone to clumping because of their high starch content. Don’t be deterred—if you can whisk out the clumps and it doesn’t smell off, it should be…

Chloe Varnfield, a digital marketing specialist at Atelier Studios with nearly eight years in PPC, joined me to share the mistakes that shaped her career — and the lessons every advertiser should take from them. When Google sneaks settings past you Chloe’s first story centers on Google’s account-level automated assets setting — a feature so well hidden that many advertisers don’t know it exists until a client sends a screenshot asking why their headline looks completely wrong. The setting, buried behind a three-dot menu, defaults to on, meaning Google can automatically generate and serve headlines advertisers never wrote or approved.…

I wrote a LinkedIn post on this very topic a while ago, and people seemed, at least, reasonably interested. So I thought I’d expand on it a little. It is, IMO, a very good way of framing how you can generate real value from trends. The value of our traditional (if we’re being fair, beige) utility content is on the way out. We had a good run, but the 2,000-word “What time is X” posts are, thankfully, done with. Or at least should be. We’re entering an era of SEO where we have to be better at marketing, where we…

[Submitted on 12 Mar 2026] View a PDF of the paper titled BTZSC: A Benchmark for Zero-Shot Text Classification Across Cross-Encoders, Embedding Models, Rerankers and LLMs, by Ilias Aarab View PDF HTML (experimental) Abstract:Zero-shot text classification (ZSC) offers the promise of eliminating costly task-specific annotation by matching texts directly to human-readable label descriptions. While early approaches have predominantly relied on cross-encoder models fine-tuned for natural language inference (NLI), recent advances in text-embedding models, rerankers, and instruction-tuned large language models (LLMs) have challenged the dominance of NLI-based architectures. Yet, systematically comparing these diverse approaches remains difficult. Existing evaluations, such as MTEB,…

, we’ve talked a lot about what an incredible tool RAG is for leveraging the power of AI on custom data. But, whether we are talking about plain LLM API requests, RAG applications, or more complex AI agents, there is one common question that remains the same. How do all these things scale? In particular, what happens with cost and latency as the number of requests in such apps grows? Especially for more advanced AI agents, which may contain multiple calls to an LLM for processing a single user query, these questions become of particular importance. Fortunately, in reality, when…

SerpApi is asking a federal court to dismiss Reddit’s lawsuit over alleged scraping of Reddit content from Google Search, saying Reddit is trying to use copyright law to control user posts and public search results. The motion follows Reddit’s amended complaint filed in February. SerpApi says the filing still fails to show copyright ownership, circumvention of technical protections, or concrete harm. SerpApi’s argument. SerpApi CEO Julien Khaleghy, in a blog post today, argued the lawsuit fails for several reasons: Reddit doesn’t own most of the content at issue. Its user agreement states that users retain ownership. Reddit holds only a…
