The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is an annual event that the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) puts on every January. It’s a massive production that brings out tech manufacturers and some of their most out-there ideas.
What Are the Dates for CES 2026?
Media-only events are scheduled for January 4-5, 2026, with the exhibition space running from January 6-9.
Where Is It Being Held?
CES happens at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) and other locations on the Strip. Pre-show programming includes CES Unveiled Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
How to Register to Attend
If you’re an industry attendee or a member of the media who covers tech, you can sign up to get a reminder when registration for CES 2026 begins at the official website.
What Happened at CES 2025?
The 2025 event continued the tech industry’s focus on artificial intelligence, along with some truly wild projects, including:
- The PXO Akira motion platform, a simulator rig that can hold a vehicle and move it on all axes to re-create movement.
- Xpeng Aeroht’s hybrid minivan that houses (and charges) an electric personal aircraft.
- Tenet brought out an AI-powered washing machine that reportedly washes, hangs, and folds your laundry.
- LG’s AeroCatTower, an air purifier with a cat bed on top of it. The bed includes a scale and will monitor your cat’s sleep.

What Kinds of Things Are Usually Announced at CES?
CES began in 1967 and has created a reputation for being the place for new tech announcements. In 1970, for example, CES showed a prototype of the videocassette recorders. Twelve years later, the eight-bit Commodore 64 launched at the event. DVDs, HDTV, Xbox, fitness bands, Blu-ray discs, 8k TVs… the list of innovative tech first shown at CES goes on and on.
A few years back, CES hosted more than 4,400 exhibitors, covering technologies from artificial intelligence and 5G to sustainable tech trends. See the Exhibitor Directory for a searchable list of all the exhibitors at this event.
CES tends to be mainly about home entertainment announcements. Don’t expect to see much involving new smartphones, though. While a few things might pop up, most companies wait to make a big competitive splash with new phone models during the Mobile World Congress (MWC).
What to Expect at CES 2026
Before the show floor opens, CES Unveiled Las Vegas will bring some of the top exhibitors and startups together for early previews of their products. Pre-show events are designed to highlight the major storylines that are shaping the industry, such as generative AI and robotics.
Confirmed keynote speakers include AMD Chair and CEO Dr. Lisa Su and Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang. Both will address how artificial intelligence will power the next era of devices and computing. Dr. Su’s keynote will focus on AI, spanning cloud, enterprise, edge, and devices, while Lenovo brings its Tech World experience to CES, including a keynote at Sphere.
Robotics will be one of the biggest draws at CES 2026. The category is expanding beyond factory use into homes, hospitals, and more. Visitors will see autonomous machines that can assist with care tasks and even interact socially in ways that feel more empathetic.
Smart home and connected living innovations will also have a major presence on the show floor. Energy-efficient appliances, smarter lighting systems, home security devices, and immersive entertainment setups will be demonstrated. Health and accessibility tech sit alongside these categories to illustrate how connected living extends beyond convenience into well-being and inclusivity.
CES 2026 will also cover smart rings. We’ll hear about these compact devices from Oura, Ultrahuman, RingConn, and others.
