To be in Miami during Art Basel is to experience an energy that can only be described as electric—full of artists, visionaries, creators, and dreamers from every corner of the globe. At any given moment you can brush shoulders with a legacy artist retrospecting at a museum or a founder launching their first retail product. The week is a one-of-a-kind power party, celebrating creatives and visionaries from every step of the process—from historical icons to those bringing their ideas to life for the very first time.

During this dynamic week, Chase brought together an inspiring and pioneering group of business owners for an extraordinary dinner at Pao Restaurant within the Faena Hotel. The night, with a multi-course dinner set to a mesmerizing South Beach soundtrack, allowed artists and innovators of all stripes to gather, connect, and celebrate their new card—the Sapphire Reserve for Business—a card for creators like these.

The evening opened with a cocktail hour featuring passion fruit mojitos made with Ten To One Rum, whose founder, Marc-Kwesi Farrell, floated through the crowd along with a sea of entrepreneurs and business owners curated by Chase to bring the spirit of Miami Art Week to life. Guests included acclaimed Tyler Mitchell, a photographer best known for photographing the 2018 American Vogue cover featuring Beyoncé; Rocky Xu from Rocky’s Matcha; and Richard Paul of Klutch Sports.

Sea Bass was just one of several decadent courses served at the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business dinner, which brought creatives and visionaries together at Pao Restaurant in South Beach to celebrate Art Basel in Miami.

Sprawling communal tables adorned with floral arrangements allowed guests to mingle and connect as dinner service began with a stunning amuse bouche of crispy nori with daikon tartare, maple vinaigrette, and hoja santa—an herb with a complex flavor reminiscent of licorice and anise. Dinner continued with a refreshing coconut milk ceviche with apple, grapefruit, and hearts of palm, followed by decadent courses of short ribs and sea bass, with tropical desserts to cap it off.

Throughout the evening, the Chase team sprinkled engaging programming to highlight the relationship between creativity and entrepreneurship that is so crucial for businesses. A highlight of the night was an invaluable Q&A with Paul who candidly discussed his journey with Klutch Sports. He spoke about finding work-life balance, the concept of your business being your “baby” (a practice he does not adhere to or necessarily endorse), and the importance of celebrating your own wins. The Chase team left plenty of time for guests to network and chat, sharing stories about the ups and downs of entrepreneurship as the music played on.

Posh dinners during Miami Art Basel are a dime a dozen, but it’s not often that such an inspiring group of business owners can come together over a shared meal to not only connect, but celebrate their wins and champion each other’s work.
