I may be lactose intolerant, but one of my favorite foods in the world is cheese—and when it comes to the ideal variety, I don’t discriminate. Whether it’s a charcuterie board piled with specialty slices, a melty macaroni made with four types of fromage, or shreds of sharp cheddar straight from the bag, cheese is one indulgence worth every stomachache. Plus, it’s an easy way to sneak in some extra protein.

Kraft Natural Cheese is leaning into that appeal with not one, but two new products that might just become my go-to snack.

Kraft Natural Cheese Debuts Protein Sticks

The high-protein snack space is still booming in 2026, and Kraft Natural Cheese is amping up its product line with a new launch aimed at cheese lovers who want a little extra fuel on the go: Kraft Natural Cheese Protein Sticks.

    Allrecipes / Kraft

The new product comes in two classic flavors—Mild Cheddar and Pepper Jack—and each stick boasts 17 grams of protein, making it a more filling option than your standard string cheese. The sticks also have 50% less fat than Kraft Natural Cheese’s traditional mild cheddar and pepper jack varieties, offering a lighter option for busy days and on-the-go snacking. Plus, they’re TSA-approved, making them an especially convenient option for long travel days.

It’s no secret that cheese already contains a decent amount of protein—so what’s the hype? Similar to Fairlife and other ultra-filtered dairy products, the new Kraft Natural Cheese Protein Sticks are made with pasteurized skim milk, which helps reduce the fat content while maximizing protein.

Whether you want to hit your protein goals or you simply love cheese, the Kraft Natural Cheese Protein Sticks may just be the purse snack you’ve been looking for. The new products are currently available at Food Lion, Hy-Vee, Meijer, and ShopRite, with plans to roll out to additional retailers later this year.
