It sometimes feels like there are more midsize SUVs available today than mosquitoes on a summer night. And like those pesky insects, midsize luxury SUVs can cause a real sting. In other words, all those upscale features come at a price. Expect a starting MSRP over $50,000, which can easily stretch to $70,000 and beyond, depending on the make, model, and trim level.
Among the main players in this segment are the Lexus TX, Acura MDX, Genesis GV80, and the Infiniti QX60. The latter stands out in particular, having a lower starting MSRP, better fuel economy, and a higher or equal towing capacity to its rivals. While the QX60 doesn’t win in every category, there are two interior creature comforts that make it an exceptional choice in the segment.

One trim level really incorporates Japanese culture
The 2026 Infiniti QX60 has a new exterior look inspired by the automaker’s Artistry in Motion design language, first seen on the QX Monograph Concept and the production version of the redesigned QX80. Although smaller than the QX80, the QX60 still offers seating for seven via a bench seat in the second row.
The 2026 QX60 comes in four trims: Pure, Luxe, Sport, and Autograph.
Pure and Luxe feature TailorFit material for the seats, derived from over 60% percent recycled materials. Sport models feature an athletic look inside and out, with black 20-inch wheels and a Dusk Blue interior.
The Autograph, inspired by Japanese culture, has kimono-style stitching over perforated semi-aniline upholstery and open-pore wood trim with laser-etched metal inlays. The kimono-style stitching is a personal favorite feature among the engineers who worked on the QX60 at Infiniti.

The QX60 has NASA-inspired technology
Ideal for long commutes
Heated leather seats are a given in any luxury SUV, but Infiniti has gone to the final frontier with its Zero Gravity seats. As the name suggests, Nissan leveraged ergonomic technology developed by NASA to keep astronauts in a “neutral posture” in space. When that concept is moved from a space shuttle to an SUV, it means less fatigue as the minutes and miles rack up on a long daily commute.
The Zero Gravity seats use multi-density foam and a 14-point pressure system that distributes a person’s body weight more evenly across the seat itself. The design provides added support for the hips, back, and shoulders, and can help prevent a general feeling of restlessness on long trips.
While the 2026 Infiniti QX60 has all the usual comforts you would expect in a premium luxury SUV, the Zero Gravity seats are exclusive to Infiniti and Nissan vehicles alone. The Autograph trim level even pairs the Zero Gravity seats with a massaging function for maximum comfort.

All-new Klipsch audio system
While snug and comfortable in the Zero Gravity seats, you can cue up your road trip playlist and your favorite podcasts through the Klipsch audio system.
On the r/infiniti subreddit, some users have lauded the new Klipsch audio system, despite skepticism about Infiniti’s move away from Bose for the QX60. Panasonic Automotive and Infiniti announced the Klipsch audio system at CES 2024, which would later debut in the redesigned 2025 QX80.
Other Reddit reviews mention the Individual Audio feature, a unique aspect of the Klipsch audio system for the 2026 QX60. Individual Audio mode sends everything to your headrest, including music, phone calls, and navigation prompts, so as not to disturb other passengers.
Two versions of the Klipsch audio system are available for the 2026 QX60, depending on the trim level. The Luxe has a 16-speaker system, while the Autograph has the Reference Premiere system with 20 speakers.
Regardless of the trim level, the 2026 Infiniti QX60 is standard with Google built-in, which includes Google Maps and Google Assistant, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Fuel-efficient powertrain
VC-Turbo alters its compression ratio
Infiniti removed the QX60’s larger V6 for the 2025 model year, replacing it with a 2.0-liter variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo for short) that creates 268 horsepower and 286 lb-ft. of torque. The turbocharged four-cylinder, connected to a nine-speed automatic, is again the standard engine for the 2026 model year, though Infiniti added new mounting structures to reduce overall engine noise for a quieter ride.
What makes the VC-Turbo unique is its on-the-fly compression ratio adjustment for the best possible power delivery and fuel economy. The design comprises a multi-link system that raises or lowers the pistons in real time in response to the driver’s inputs. Meanwhile, the VC-Turbo is smaller and more compact, translating to more interior room for the 2026 QX60.
According to CarEdge data, the QX60’s 10-year maintenance costs are approximately $11,724, which is nearly $730 cheaper than the average for luxury SUVs in 2026. While good, the QX60 still cannot compete against the Lexus TX in terms of 10-year maintenance costs, which are substantially lower than the industry average.
When properly equipped, the 2026 Infiniti QX60 has a max towing capacity of 6,000 lbs. Pure and Luxe models are standard with front-wheel drive and optional with all-wheel drive. Sport and Autograph are only available with all-wheel drive.

The 2026 Infiniti QX60 might be worth your time (and money)
While there are many good options on the market when it comes to midsize luxury SUVs, the Infiniti QX60 makes a solid case. Compared to its rivals, it offers a nice sweet spot in terms of starting MSRP, fuel economy, and available features, like the Zero Gravity seats and Klipsch audio system.
