Mirroring (or flipping) a photo on your iPhone lets you achieve the desired look with minimal effort. The Photos app on iPhones and iPads allows you to flip images with a few taps. Alternatively, third-party apps like Photoshop Express or Photo Flipper can also be used to mirror images and add effects.
How to Mirror an Image on iPhone With the Photos App
The fastest way to flip an image on your iPhone or iPad is by using the Photos app.
Open the Photos app and tap the image you wish to flip.
Tap Edit in the upper-right corner.
Tap the Crop icon in the lower-right. The icon appears as a box with overlapping lines and two arced arrows.
Tap the Flip icon in the upper-left. It resembles two triangles with a line and arrows pointing in opposite directions.
Tap Done to save the flipped image. To discard changes, select Cancel > Discard Changes.
If you decide the flipped image isn’t satisfactory, return to the image, select Edit, and choose Revert > Revert to Original. This will restore the image to its original state before any edits.
How to Mirror an Image on iPhone With Photoshop Express
Photoshop Express is a free iOS app offering a variety of photo-editing tools. Here’s how to flip or mirror an image on your iPhone using the app.
Open or download the Photoshop Express app. By default, the app displays images in your iPhone Photos app under the All Photos view. To change the view, select the arrow next to All Photos and choose from other sources.
Tap Edit at the top of the screen, then select the photo you wish to edit.
Tap the Crop icon at the bottom.
Tap Rotate beneath the image, then choose Flip Horizontal to mirror it.
5. Use additional tools to add filters or adjust colors, then tap the Send To icon at the top, which looks like a box with an upward-pointing arrow.
Select All Photos to save the flipped image to the Photos app, or scroll down and choose another option.
The mirrored image is saved in the Photos app or shared at a location of your choice.
The mirrored version of your photo doesn’t overwrite or delete the original image in the Photos app.
How to Mirror a Photo on iPhone With Photo Flipper

You can take a photo within the app by tapping the Camera icon in the lower-left portion of the screen.

Once the photo loads in Photo Flipper, drag your finger across it horizontally or vertically to mirror it.
Tap the Share icon in the lower-right corner.
Select Save Image to save the mirrored picture to your Photos app.

Why Mirror an Image?
Mirroring an image is the process of flipping a photo either horizontally or vertically. For example, people often use the mirroring effect to flip text to make it more readable in a picture.
You can also use mirroring to improve an image’s aesthetic or help a photo match the goals of a design project. As another example, what if a model is supposed to look to their left, but they’re glancing to the right in all images? Mirroring the image fixes the problem without the need for reshoots.
The mirror effect also creates surreal imagery, such as a picture of someone looking at another version of themselves or the illusion of two objects being completely identical to one another within the same image.
