Ask anyone in my life, and they’ll tell you that I am not a morning person. At all. I will wait until the last possible second to start my day, meaning breakfast sometimes gets put on the back burner.  As a result, I’ve leaned on breakfast bars to make sure I’m getting fuel in the morning,

It’s no surprise that the soft-baked bars from Nutri-Grain (owned by breakfast giant Kellogg’s) have been one of my favorites, ever since my parents used to pack them in my bag as I headed off to school. It was a convenient fruit-filled snack that I carried into my college days, especially for those dreaded 8 a.m. classes.

Most of Nutri-Grain’s products are known for their soft-baked texture, which reminds me of a bakery-style breakfast pastry in a more convenient packaging. But now, it’s venturing into new waters with a lineup of bars that are the exact opposite.

    The New Nutri-Grain Crunchy Bars

The new Nutri-Grain Crunchy bars are perfect for anyone who’s looking to switch things up texturally. Each bar provides plenty of crisp texture in every bite. The revamped grain bars are packed with oats, barley, buckwheat, rye, and quinoa, and are free of high-fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors and dyes, and peanuts.

You’ll be able to select from two delicious flavors: Chocolate Chip Chia and Honey Oat Flax. The Chocolate Chip Chia bars are studded with chocolate chips and chia seeds for even more texture and nutrients. Meanwhile, the Honey Oat Flax version is reminiscent of the popular Nature Valley Oats ‘n Honey bars. These crunchy bars combine sweet notes of honey, whole grains, and earthy flaxseed.

Personally, I can’t wait to try the new products. Aside from snacking on them as is, I think both flavors would be great crumbled over a smoothie bowl or added to a yogurt parfait. They could even be used as a topping on a fruit crisp for a tasty boost of texture.

And I’m not the only one looking forward to the new line. The comments on Nutri-Grain’s Instagram post announcing the product were filled with excitement from fans. One commenter wrote, “I need to try the chocolate flavor!”

“Omg need!” added another fan. Others left a slew of heart-eye emojis to express their enthusiasm.

Luckily, we won’t have to wait too long to enjoy the new items. The Nutri-Grain Crunchy bars will arrive at select retailers this month, followed by a national release later this spring. A 10-count box will cost about $4.49, though prices may vary by location.
