Every time I take a trip to Costco, I can all but guarantee that a few things are going to end up in my cart that aren’t on the list. How can I be expected to restrain myself when there are so many snacks? One thing I do know, though, is that I’m always going to grab a bag of the best frozen chicken nuggets every single time.

Sold in a 4-pound bag in the store’s massive freezer section, the Kirkland Signature Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks may have an unassuming name, but they’ve become a staple of my weeknight dinner routine. Their flavor is very reminiscent of a popular fried chicken chain known for its famous nuggets, and I don’t even have to bother leaving the house when I get a craving. (I also always keep honey mustard handy for dipping.)

    • Why I Love Them: They’re all white meat chicken breast pieces and have a good amount of black pepper seasoning. They’re perfect for easy dinners, lunches, and snacks.

Why I Love Kirkland Signature Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks

This product is made with chicken breast meat, so you don’t have to worry about that weird mystery concoction found in some store-bought nuggets. They’re also nicely seasoned with a decent dose of black pepper—just enough that I can use them in a variety of dishes. In fact, I’ve been surprised at how many different uses I’ve been able to find for these tasty little morsels.

    Simply Recipes / Costco

I’ve used Kirkland Signature Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks to make quick stir-fries, tucked them into tacos, and scattered them over a chopped salad. (They make for a ridiculously easy lunch.) It’s great that you don’t even have to think about deep frying these nuggets to get the breading appropriately crunchy, too; the package offers instructions for both oven prep and air frying, and I’ve found that the latter is best for really getting that craggy exterior super crisp. I’ll often leave them in the air fryer for a few minutes longer than recommended for maximum crunch, so they’ll stand up to a big drizzle of barbecue sauce or Frank’s Red Hot.

Priced around $15, keeping a bag of Kirkland Signature Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks in my freezer for emergency snacks or last-minute lunches is a total no-brainer. Whether you’re transforming them into something entirely different or simply serving your picky kid a plate of plain chicken nuggets for the thousandth time, knowing that you’ve got a proven hit in the freezer is the definition of peace of mind.
