Prime Video remains one of the best streaming services for a reason, thanks to its constant stream of new shows and movies to keep us coming back for more. This year was no different, with Amazon’s streaming service delivering a mix of exciting new originals and returning favorites.

Of the most-watched 2025 Prime Video series, several did well with critics, but only a few had viewers raving enough to earn a 90% on the Popcornmeter, Rotten Tomatoes’ score that’s determined by audiences. Between a coming-of-age romance drama, a highly anticipated video game adaptation, and an acclaimed animated series, only three Prime Video originals were true crowdpleasers.

Here, we’ve spotlighted the must-watch Prime Video shows of the year (new and returning) that earned a 90% or higher audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

I’m a huge “Fallout” fan, so Prime Video’s adaptation had some pretty big boots to fill. But even I was impressed by how faithfully the show preserves its source material while adding its own jingle, jangle, jingle. Its second season dropped last month, earning an impressive 93% critics and audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The first season was a masterclass in worldbuilding and interlocking story lines, with its three main characters, each from a different corner of the wasteland, converging in the final episode: Lucy (Ella Purnell), a spirited but sheltered vault dweller; Maximus (Aaron Moten), an ambitious recruit in the Brotherhood of Steel, a tech-obsessed paramilitary group; and Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), a living relic from Hollywood turned gunslinging outlaw. “Fallout” season 2 marks a confident return to the series’ quirky post-apocalyptic world, giving the small screen treatment to the fan-favorite city of New Vegas. After teaming up at the end of season 1, Lucy and the Ghoul are on the hunt for answers, and all roads lead to the strip’s cool and calculated pre-war leader, Mr. House (Justin Theroux).

    ‘The Mighty Nein’

    Watch On

Between “The Mighty Nein’s” perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and strong 92% RT audience score, there’s no question this animated series is one of the very best Prime Video shows of 2025. A spin-off of “The Legend of Vox Machina,” it follows a hodgepodge crew of drifters, oddballs, and runaways voiced by the Critical Role cast through a new adventure in Exandria.

When a band of wizards steals a legendary relic from the Kryn Dynasty known as the Luxon Beacon, it threatens a full-scale war between nations. As danger spreads throughout the continent, the only people who can put a stop to the bloodshed are our band of unlikely heroes who quickly get in way over their heads. Old wounds resurface, hidden truths emerge, and dramatic back stories come to light, bringing them closer as they fight to survive.

    ‘The Runarounds’

    Watch On

A music drama from Jonas Pate (co-creator of Netflix’s YA hit, “Outer Banks”), “The Runarounds” is inspired by the real-life band at the heart of the story. It follows five high school grads from Wilmington, North Carolina, who form a rock band the summer after graduation with dreams of making it big. The cast — including William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher — are actual musicians playing fictionalized versions of themselves, and it’s clear they’re having a blast performing together.

Across eight episodes (all of which are streaming now), the band navigates all the highs and lows of love and life that hit like a freight train when you’re that age. These kinds of breezy teen dramas rarely do well with critics, and “The Runarounds” is no exception. Its 90% audience score tells a different story, though, and one that I agree with. I thought this endearing coming-of-age drama hit all the right notes, even if it’s not breaking any new ground.
